Hey hey

Been a member for awhile, and finnaly got some decent photos of my car so i thought id throw up a build thread.

I spent along time hunting around for a car wen't and looked at a fair few that didn't work out for one reason or another till i found this. My mate went out to buy some parts and the guy mentioned he was thinking of selling it, my mate called me knowing i was looking for a car, went and had a look at it got it checked out and drove away very very happy with it.

Future plans
For now i wanna focus on handling and braking, so looking into getting some new subframe bushes aswell as front and rear sway bars then maybe some camber, toe ect arms. Aswell as looking into a 5 stud conversion with GTR calipers biggers rotors and to fit the oil cooler and relocation kit ive got lying around.

The car was tuned at hyperdrive making 240.4 hp at 16 psi. Right now im loving the fact of owning a rwd car a huge upgrade from the fwd's i owned before this. Basically i wanna keep it reasonalby streetable until i finish uni then wouldn't mind turning it into a track car, im loving the fact that the car doesn't cause much attention from the police so some crazy offset rims and a kit are the last things i'm looking into doing.

Worrying noises

Ok i would normally head straght to a mechanic, but its friday afternoon and need some help identifying a noise.

First of all ive been told i have a s15 turbo by the previous owner, runing .6 of a bar and very rarely see's my other setting of 1.1 bar. The car is a 94 180 with a black top.

The noise happens when i take my foot of the accelerator and is a whirring/grinding noise which sounds like from in the car coming from the turbo side, it doesnt seem to make the noise when i put my clutch in and take my foot of the accelerator, also it doesnt seem to make the noise if i dont spool the turbo up.

The car doesnt blow any smoke at all of any colour and the turbo spools up perfectly.

Also after driving the car what sound like a metal on metal tinking can be heard from under the hood, very closly to the turbo, which leeds me to think that there isnt something quite right about my turbo, also it doesnt make the noise on first start up.

So basically should i be staying of boost cause my turbo is on its way out? or should i be looking elsewhere for the problem?

Thinking about a 180sx

Hey guys

Im seriously thinking about buying a 180, have been doing some research here and there but i want to get some information from some people who know them the best.
It has to be a SR turbo and manual and really just looking for a nice daily to get me to uni an cruises, so im looking for just some general feedback and responses from owners on what they think about there car, ie reliabilty, petrol consumption ect.
